Thermal Conductivity and Xmas Story

During class today we watched a clip from Christmas Story that got us thinking about Thermal Conductivity. Mr. M asked us to answer the question: "Would the same thing happen if the pole was wood"? This led to a discussion and testing of this initial question in the lab. We discovered that indeed it would not stick, because metal is a better conductor of heat than wood.
